Back to Svaneti for three important celebrations happening in summer: Kvirikoba in Kala, Eliaoba in Lenjeri and Lavashkvari in Ushguli. Like all the svan festivities those are characterized by a mix of orthodox and ancestral pagan traditions. People pray, psalmody, sing, sacrifice an ox or a sheep—according to the richness of the village—and it ends with a big banquet that brings all the villagers together in an alternative rough festive ambiance.
